In theory I should be able to flash the firmware if anyone is in/near the Canberra region - I'm currently away but will do my two boards when I'm back in a couple of days.
I'm looking to replace my, frankly awful, plywood megatree topper. Does anyone know a good/cheap/reliable supplier who either has them available or will cut one without me having to cough up too many $'s?
Aside from the protocol discussion, which as long as it 'just works' doesn't really affect me.
For testing as long as I can generate 'useful' patterns (a couple of chases, perhaps a chase with every x pixel lit) I'll tend to do anything more once I'm fiddling with my (very limited) sequences...
I presume there isn't (yet?) xlights integration for configuring differential ports in 'smart' mode?
I'll have to pull my v2 box out of the roof and actually test :)
Being able to run a single c5 out to a far away place and getting a bunch of different strings is appealing - then again cheap...
I saw the falcon 'Smart' differential receivers work with Hanson differential transmitter boards - I'm presuming they only work in 'dumb' mode - i.e. no chaining of receivers? Because that would be too easy/hard right :)
So after a re-install & then using the correct EEPROM generator it's working 100% correctly. I (stupidly?) had the URL to both generators open & obviously, why not, pick the wrong one to use :)
Thanks both for your help - now I have to get back to actually making things.
I got brave and ran an OS update and seem to have either filled the SD card to otherwise broken things... I'll re-install a clean 6.1 build and try again..
I guess one advantage would be where I need multiple voltages in one location, each of which is usually pretty low current - I *could* buy a powersupply with all the voltages I need and get it 240V, but a lower feed voltage with cheapish converters might be smaller, safer and more flexible. Then...
@Skymaster I'd be keen on testing out your crowbar circuit if I could - happy to either buy them or get my own PCBs printed up and populated - or any combination of the two that suits you. Have you given any thought into supporting different crowbar voltages?
Hi,
I noticed the (rather old) F4v2 differential transmitter looks like it might be available later in the year from the US site - do you know if we will be getting it in the Aus store or should I grab it from the US while it's still available?
Thanks
Antony
